Paypal Bans Vaping Payments
Dear all Nasty Juice customers, as you may be aware online Payment processor PayPal has banned vape payments until further notice. Thankfully, we have managed to find an alternative merchant and now have changed our payment services from PayPal to VivaWallet.
This was a shock move, that hits without warning, especially during these unprecedented times. We did not expect this from PayPal.
There is this statement in the PP Help Centre:
“PayPal generally prohibits transactions for all types of tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, and smokeless tobacco due to legal requirements and industry regulations for online tobacco sales.”
Any business offering these products and presenting PayPal is either doing so without PayPal’s knowledge or with written permission. That permission can be withdrawn by PayPal at any time, for any reason, without explanation, and without recourse by the merchant.
It’s being reported in France, “PayPal has decided that the sale of products related to electronic cigarettes was no longer ethical for the company”, and that it is now closing accounts “without notice and definitely”.
As you may have noticed, PayPal is no longer advertised on our website. However, this does not mean we have stopped accepting payments. You must now fill out your full billing details manually using your credit/debit card credentials. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused, but it is something that is out of our control. We can assure you; you are still able to make purchases through our website safely and securely.
